JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Perform work involving the skills of multiple maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may range from installation and repairing of buildings, to troubleshooting and repairing electrical or mechanical equipment.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Assist with negotiation of price for build outs and extra projects.

Specialized Technical Skills
- Plumbing: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, pipes, and water systems; troubleshoot leaks, clogs, and water pressure issues
- Electrical: Perform basic electrical repairs and installations; replace outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures; troubleshoot electrical issues while adhering to safety codes
- HVAC: Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems; replace filters, perform routine maintenance, and diagnose system problems
General Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify potential issues
- Handle painting, carpentry, and general repair work as needed
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
Additional Duties
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment service history
- Order and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and parts
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialized services are required
- Participate in emergency response procedures as needed
Supervisory Responsibility
This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job is in a store/retail environment.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to use a ladder.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. These days/hours may vary if work load permits.
Travel

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field
- Proven experience with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Basic computer skills for maintenance management systems
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environments
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Education and Experience
- Trade school certification or relevant technical training
- Professional certifications in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC
- Experience with building automation systems
- Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA) and building codes
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling AAP/EEO Statement
